The Golden Touch

The Golden Touch

So many of my couples add luxurious gold touches to their wedding day. Not a surprise that I love this since gold happens to be one of my favorite colors and if you walk into my home you will see touches of this everywhere. Adding gold doesn’t have to be overdone but it can definitely add that distinct upscale look you are going for on your wedding day. Check out how some of our brides and grooms added gold to their special day!

Real Wedding: Kate + John

Real Wedding: Kate + John

Kate always wanted a quintessential NYC wedding. With a fashion-forward mind, she wanted to plan the perfect day with all of the luxurious details. Kate and John’s wedding day was nothing short of all of these things. The University Club was a perfect mix of luxury and old school New York History. Here is a sneak peak of a swoon worthy day with photos by A Day of Bliss.

5 Ways to Remove Stress from Your Wedding Diet

Stress is not a feeling you should have going into, during planning, or on your wedding day. Yes, you want your wedding to be like WHOA and you want all of your friends, family, and social media talking about it. But honey that doesn’t mean you have to kill yourself or your health creating the most memorable day of your life. I always tell my clients, get back to the heart of what matters and let’s WOW your guests all at the same time.

Try Not to Do Everything at Once
This does not apply if your wedding is two months away, but if you have more time then allow yourself to breathe. It’s always good to have a plan of what you could do monthly or every three months rather than trying to get it done in one day.

Get a Checklist
Let’s face it, Google is our source for everything nowadays. You can find thousands of different wedding checklists online. Choose one that works for you! Don’t drive yourself crazy searching millions of websites either. Most wedding checklists found online are pretty much the same.

Hire a Planner
If you’re very busy, hire someone who is professional at handling wedding checklists, being organized, and providing seamless wedding day execution.

Get Some Sleep
Z’s always makes you feel better. If you find yourself searching the internet until 3am, just know this is normal bride or groom to be behavior. However, you want to be in the best health leading up to the wedding day. So get some Zzzzzsss, please.

Delegate, Delegate, and Delegate Some More
Why is it we have such problem letting others help us? If the help is there then ask for it. You would be amazed by how many of your family and friends want to help with wedding plans.

Real Wedding: Tracy + Ebow

Tracy is one of the sweetest brides we have ever met. I love it when my clients allow us to take their ideas and run with them. She was always so calm, cool and collected, even throughout the design process.   It’s no wonder she wanted a laid back cocktail style wedding to fit her and Ebow’s personality. These two hail from the Ohio state, and knew that New York fit best for the look and feel they were going for on their wedding day. The CTP team and I had so much fun adding cultural, modern and organic touches to the couples decor. The W Loft in Brooklyn offers jaw dropping and scenic views all around. We can’t wait to design another event in this space. Tracy and Ebow’s wedding decor surely sets the stage for a fabulous New York style cocktail wedding.

Real Weddings: Amanda + Kashif

When a client tells me their fave color is purple and pink, I jump for joy!! We had so much fun designing Amanda and Kashif’s wedding day. We combined glitz, glamour, and of course hues of pink and purple to spice up their afternoon wedding. Here is a sneak peak of this bold and beautiful summer wedding.

Our Backdrops are Bangin!

I get asked to create WOW factors for our brides and grooms. When it comes to designing for my clients I want to exceed their expectations. Real Weddings: Mio + Agustin

Real Weddings: Mio + Agustin

Some girls dream of getting married in a big castle. For Mio, this dream really did come true. Mio & Agustin’s beautiful Oheka Castle wedding couldn’t have been more picturesque on a cold winter day. Combining the two cultures, Japanese and Peruvian, was quite exciting with menus at each guest’s setting in Spanish and Japanese. This wedding was a winter wonderland fiesta of sorts. Mio wanted a magical wedding day and that is exactly what we assisted her in creating.

5 Ways to Ensure Your Wedding Goes Off Without a Hitch

5 Ways to Ensure Your Wedding Goes Off Without a Hitch

Okay, so I kind of lied in the title just a little bit. Having a wedding with no hiccups is, well, a bit unheard of, but there are certainly ways that you can have a wedding that runs as smoothly as possible. Your guests, and even you, may not know that there were minor issues going on behind the scenes. A perfect wedding means something different to every bride or couple. To me it means happiness!! If you want to have a happy and smooth running wedding day, take note of these 5 tips:

Hire a Wedding Coordinator

I am a wedding coordinator so naturally you would think I would suggest it. But I am suggesting it because it’s TRUE. Hiring a day-of coordinator will help you relax, have less stress, and basically NO worry on your wedding day. You have spent countless hours planning your wedding, leave the logistics in someone else’s hands, grab a drink, and get on the dance floor!

Create a Thoughtfully Designed Timeline

I always tell my clients if you can’t afford a day of coordinator, at least create a timeline for your vendors. In my opinion, it’s virtually impossible to have a smooth running wedding day without one. I am always captured by this quote, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

Enlist Your Wedding Party

Yes, your besties are part of your wedding day. But are they really a part of it? Bridesmaids or groomsmen are there to support you, but also to offer some assistance on the wedding day. Consider light duties for them like handing out programs to guests, making sure the timeline is being carried out, or making sure guests are aware of the day’s activities.

Use Your Venue’s Bridal Attendant

Having a bridal attendant is certainly helpful once you and your guests arrive at the venue. They are there to help you with whatever is needed to ensure you are happy and stress-free. Keep in mind that bridal attendants are not with you before your arrival to the venue so having a planner with you the entire day is beneficial.

Breathe

This should actually be number one on the list, but I always tell clients to breathe and be in the moment. You have waited so long for this day and it is here. Don’t stress the small stuff and enjoy your wedding as much as possible. Don’t let the beautiful memories go to waste!

Real Weddings: Samara + Mikhaile

Real Weddings: Samara + Mikhaile

This wedding day was truly nothing short of magical for Samara and Mikhaile. They literally danced on a cloud for their wedding reception. From the beautifully manicured gardens, amazing food by Merri-Makers, and so many details to entice guests, their wedding was truly an amazing experience for all guests. The CTP team had a blast coordinating all of the little details and seeing it all come to life. One thing is for sure, The Ashford Estate is a breathtaking wedding venue just like our gorgeous bride and groom.
