Real Wedding Video: Dara & Duane

I truly can’t wait to receive all of the beautiful pics from Dara and Duane’s wedding. But for now I am gushing over their amazing wedding video by one of my fave cinematograhers NST Films. I think I have watched this video way too many times already. (Side Note: I kinda do that will all of my clients wedding videos) The rain really added a natural touch of elegance to this wedding and didn’t stop this bride and groom from slaying their wedding day. So happy to have been a part of Dara and Duane’s nuptials. I have to tell ya, I am super lucky to be a witness in making the magic happen!

Wedding Planning: Cool Ways To Cool Off Your Guests At Your Outdoor Wedding

So it’s August and we all know that means high temps for New York and the East Coast. However, bring on the fun and fabulous outdoor weddings! I love love love the summer and I especially love when my clients choose to have tented weddings and outdoor ceremonies. But what about your wedding guests on a hot summer day? You definitely want to think about creating an experience for them that is unforgettable. And it really starts as soon as they step foot onto the grass, the cobblestone walkway, or that amazing covered pool!

Give them a cool signature cocktail or non-alcoholic summer drink. It doesn’t have to include five different types of rum but something light and fruity would be preferable.

Popsicles. You know those icicle sticks you ate as a kid that come in like 100 a pack and in different colors of the rainbow? How fun would this be to give out on a hot summer wedding day?  Plus it would bring back a lot of great memories for your guests.

Umbrellas. I can sit in the sun for hours because I absolutely love the heat, but let’s face it, there are some people that are afraid of too much sun. So give them a cute umbrella with the bride and groom’s wedding date on it. This can double as a souvenir and a backup plan in case it rains on your ceremony.

Luxury hand towels. Chill them before handing them out to guests. They feel really good against your skin and are super soft if you get the right ones.

Cooling station area. Have an area where your guests can go to cool off either at an inside area where there are air-conditioners or fans. Place water or flavored water options in this area as well. Your guests will appreciate the hospitality!

Outdoor summer weddings are no doubt a fave amongst many guests, but be prepared to make sure your wedding guests are enjoying the experience rather than being drenched in it.

Wedding Planners Highlight: My Featured Article Going From Part-Time to Full-Time Entrepreneur

Wedding Planners Highlight: My Featured Article Going From Part-Time to Full-Time Entrepreneur

I am excited to announce that my article on going from a part-time to full-time entrepreneur has been featured in Wedding Planner Magazine for Summer 2017! When I pressed the submit button to send this to the editors of the Wedding Planner Magazine, I thought they were never going to accept this crazy story. Heck, I  even thought they wouldn’t believe anything I wrote. Writing this article brought back a lot of shaky feelings but also great memories of my journey thus far. I definitely wrote this from the heart and with a truthful and honest voice.

Honestly, there are days when I feel like having a full-time job would be best. I mean who doesn’t like a steady paycheck? But then I look back at all I have created and I know that I am in this for the long haul. Why give up on my passion? This is something I ask myself almost daily. Deciding not to go back to work full-time was one of the scariest things I have ever done in my life. Not even having kids was this scary. It was and still is a leap of faith, unshakeable, unwavering, steadfast good old-fashioned FAITH.

Being where I am right now has given me the ability to really focus on my clients needs and on my passion for planning and designing events. It has also given me the opportunity to be home with my children and focus on my family. I’m really not sure what the future holds; if I did I couldn’t begin to tell you all of the wild and crazy ideas I would be living out on a daily basis. (Insert: Dancing & beach life babyyyyy) Right now I am growing and loving all of the wonderful memories that I am creating with my clients and in my life. Being and entreprenuer is a journey that calls on me to always be in line and in touch with my faith in MAKING THINGS HAPPEN. My strong faith in God is what keeps me going and I know that I will never fail because I have him by my side! I am glad that I am on a journey to cultivate and create amazing experiences for those that I serve.

Real Wedding: Jackie + Ivan

Real Wedding: Jackie + Ivan

This couple puts the S in Sexy, the L in Love and, when you see them in person, the W in Wow. The CTP team had so much fun designing Jackie & Ivan’s wedding. The raw space at one of Brooklyn’s newer venues, The 1896, was the perfect canvas for us to create the wedding of their dreams. Jackie and Ivan wanted to show their out-of-town guests from Poland and Russia an amazing time and have design details that would give their guests a great experience throughout the night. With a bit of a rustic feel but including some glam, our team was able to bring their vision to life! Here is a sneak peek of Jackie & Ivan’s fabulous wedding day with photos from Birch Photographers of David Tutera Photo

The Golden Touch

The Golden Touch

So many of my couples add luxurious gold touches to their wedding day. Not a surprise that I love this since gold happens to be one of my favorite colors and if you walk into my home you will see touches of this everywhere. Adding gold doesn’t have to be overdone but it can definitely add that distinct upscale look you are going for on your wedding day. Check out how some of our brides and grooms added gold to their special day!

5 Ways to Remove Stress from Your Wedding Diet

Stress is not a feeling you should have going into, during planning, or on your wedding day. Yes, you want your wedding to be like WHOA and you want all of your friends, family, and social media talking about it. But honey that doesn’t mean you have to kill yourself or your health creating the most memorable day of your life. I always tell my clients, get back to the heart of what matters and let’s WOW your guests all at the same time.

Try Not to Do Everything at Once
This does not apply if your wedding is two months away, but if you have more time then allow yourself to breathe. It’s always good to have a plan of what you could do monthly or every three months rather than trying to get it done in one day.

Get a Checklist
Let’s face it, Google is our source for everything nowadays. You can find thousands of different wedding checklists online. Choose one that works for you! Don’t drive yourself crazy searching millions of websites either. Most wedding checklists found online are pretty much the same.

Hire a Planner
If you’re very busy, hire someone who is professional at handling wedding checklists, being organized, and providing seamless wedding day execution.

Get Some Sleep
Z’s always makes you feel better. If you find yourself searching the internet until 3am, just know this is normal bride or groom to be behavior. However, you want to be in the best health leading up to the wedding day. So get some Zzzzzsss, please.

Delegate, Delegate, and Delegate Some More
Why is it we have such problem letting others help us? If the help is there then ask for it. You would be amazed by how many of your family and friends want to help with wedding plans.

Real Wedding: Tracy + Ebow

Tracy is one of the sweetest brides we have ever met. I love it when my clients allow us to take their ideas and run with them. She was always so calm, cool and collected, even throughout the design process.   It’s no wonder she wanted a laid back cocktail style wedding to fit her and Ebow’s personality. These two hail from the Ohio state, and knew that New York fit best for the look and feel they were going for on their wedding day. The CTP team and I had so much fun adding cultural, modern and organic touches to the couples decor. The W Loft in Brooklyn offers jaw dropping and scenic views all around. We can’t wait to design another event in this space. Tracy and Ebow’s wedding decor surely sets the stage for a fabulous New York style cocktail wedding.
